Dave and Cheryl Maddox opened MVPizza in 1997 with one simple idea: make a place where everyone in Williamston could pull up a chair. Nearly three decades later, that idea hasn't changed.
How It Started in 1997
Dave and Cheryl Maddox wanted Williamston to have a real gathering place — not a chain, but somewhere families actually wanted to linger. They built the buffet from the ground up, with handmade dough and a secret-recipe sauce.
Twenty Years of Friday Nights
For two decades, MVPizza was where Williamston showed up — ball teams after a win, families on birthdays, neighbors over wings. In 2017, longtime employee Brent Belt took ownership and kept every bit of that spirit.
The Storm, Then the Comeback
Hurricane Helene forced MVPizza to close in 2024 — and for a town that had eaten here for 27 years, that hit hard. In April 2025, three local families bought the restaurant and brought it back.
What People Come Back For
The dessert pizzas — chocolate chip, strawberry, s'mores — have their own devoted following, and the mango habanero wings surprise every first-timer. All still rooted in handmade dough and the bold flavors Williamston fell for in '97.
The Buffet Is the Point
Always rotating, always fresh — pizza, pasta, soups, salad, and dessert pizzas, with something hitting the counter every few minutes. If your favorite isn't out yet, just ask — we'll make it.
